The AGM provides you, our membership, with the opportunity to engage with and question the elected officers of the Club and, to vote on the officers of the Club for the forthcoming year.

We would like to take this opportunity to invite interested Club members to take a more active part in the running of your Club. We do appreciate that the running of the Club is the job of the elected Club Officers but as that burden is ever increasing, we must look to the membership for assistance. We are sure that we have club members with expertise in certain areas and that you may wish to help in some way. If you do come forward, I can assure you all that we would welcome your interest.

We do remain concerned that our membership has an expectation that the current Club Officers and Business Unit Managers will stay in post in perpetuity. This is not the case.
When Club Members are elected as a Club Officer or Business Unit Manager it does come with some responsibility and should not be entered into lightly but, it is not expected to be a ‘job for life’. We are well aware that we do need continuity and, that none of us are getting any younger. We therefore need some thought ‘soon’ on succession planning.

If any Club member is interested in taking a more active part or role within the Club, please come forward and have a word with me, Pat Wilson or Stephen Townend.

You will still receive the 14 day formal notice re: the AGM, as per the Club Constitution and, we would hope to see as many of our Club members as possible, at your Club AGM.
