"A PERFECT OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR GUYS"

A great first hit out for the lads last week with a 40 - 20 win against Driffield 1st XV. After going 10 points behind we scored 40 unanswered points through tries from Al Hudson x2, Sam Pock x2, Sam Edwards and Josh Britton! A real team performance. Well done boys, onto York!

"It was a perfect opportunity for our guys to go out against a tough opposition and get some minutes in their legs after a tough pre season block. Driff are a good team, well coached and very competitive in the first half. We weren’t quite where we needed to be physicality wise which I think can be expected in pre season, playing your first competitive minutes.

We grew into the game well after 20 - 30 minutes playing with some really good shape. We scored 40 unanswered points in the middle block where we showed grit and determination in both attack and defence. It was also really good to have over 30 lads down playing who have all been training for the majority of the summer sessions.

We saw a real mixed bag of players including regular 1st XV, Buccs, Colts and new lads coming back into the game.

All in all, it was a positive game and I cant wait to take on York next Saturday."
