Massive congratulations to our very own Charlie Dawson on his recent call up to the 1st XV from the Colts. It's fantastic to see our homegrown players climb through the ranks and get into the first team, especially when they have been at the club since being four years old!

I'm really proud of Charlie for his recent call up to the 1st XV, it's fantastic for Charlie and the Warriors, 12 years in the making.

Charlie Dawson made his 1st team debut vs Tynedale, Saturday 22nd March. It was a mega day and a huge win for the club and for Charlie. It's a massive achievement, proving hard work and determination pays off.

"I joined Hull Ionians in 2011 at only 4 years old, I remember my dad taking me down to train with the under 6s. After my first training session, I instantly fell in love with the sport and the club.

I have made an uncountable amount of memories playing for Ionians and friends for life.

Being called up to play for the first team has always been a dream I've wanted to achieve and to do it at 18 is an honour. I am thankful to all the lads in the first team for making me feel so welcome and taking me under their wings. I am also grateful for the coaches who gave me the opportunity.

A special thank you to Phil Stockton who has been my coach from under 6s all the way through to under 18s colts. I can't imagine how stressful this kind of job is, especially with this group of lads!"
